Welcome to Playball Tauranga!We are Mirinda and Annika, proud owners of Playball Tauranga, and we are passionate about helping children grow in confidence, coordination, and character through movement and play.
Playball is an internationally recognised sports and movement development programme designed specifically for young children. Through fun, structured, and age-appropriate activities, we introduce children to the fundamental skills used across a wide variety of sports. These include balance, coordination, spatial awareness, ball skills, and teamwork — all essential building blocks for future participation in sport and physical activity.
At Playball, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to develop a positive relationship with movement from a young age. Our sessions are carefully designed to be engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate, allowing each child to progress at their own pace while building confidence and a love for being active.
Our goal is to create a fun, encouraging environment where every child feels supported, capable, and excited to learn. We love seeing children grow not only in their physical abilities, but also in their confidence, independence, and willingness to try new things.

Mirinda Joubert
tauranga@playball.co.nz // Mobile: 021 850 558 Coach Mirinda is a qualified Biokineticist and has spent several years working closely with young children, including six years teaching in early-learning environments overseas. She has a strong interest in child development and loves seeing children gain confidence as they master new skills. As a mum herself, she understands how important it is for children to feel safe, included and encouraged. |

Annika Steyn
tauranga@playball.co.nz // Mobile: 0210 298 5125 Coach Annika studied Sport Management, where her practical training focused on coaching and movement development in kindergartens. She has also worked as a kindergarten reliever, giving her wonderful hands-on experience with children in everyday learning settings. Annika brings warmth, energy and structure to her coaching style, helping children feel safe, seen and encouraged. |

The children will be coached to engage confidently in a wide range of sport skills, preparing them for years of positive, competent sports participation.

⚽ Our Current CentresPlayball Tauranga is proud to currently run sessions at a number of wonderful early learning centres across the area, including New Shoots (Pāpāmoa, Bayfair, Sandhurst, Tauranga & The Lakes), Starlight, The Blue Cottage, Explore & Flourish, and BestStart Coast Boulevard.
We love working alongside these centres to help children grow in confidence, develop important movement skills, and enjoy being active in a fun and supportive environment.
As we continue to grow, we would especially love to expand further into Bethlehem and surrounding areas.

Our Camps
⚽ Free Playball Holiday Sessions – April 2026We are excited to invite you to our FREE Playball holiday sessions this April!

📅 Dates: 4, 11 & 18 April 2026
🕘 Time: 9:00am
👶 Ages: 2–5 years (combined session)
Join us for a fun-filled morning where your child will get to enjoy some of Playball’s favourite games and activities while developing important movement and sports skills in a playful and supportive environment.
These sessions are completely free, and a great opportunity to experience what Playball is all about!

Up to 12 children: $120
13–24 children: $200
(Please include siblings if they will be joining in the activities.)
📅 Booking & Cancellation
A $30 cancellation fee applies if cancelled within 48 hours of the party.
If rescheduled, the full fee can be transferred to a new date.
