Our Coaches

  Harry Simmonds

Hi all, I was born and raised in the Elmbridge area and have plenty of experience of working with children. I was lucky enough to complete 3 months of volunteer work in South Africa with less fortunate children. At school, I had the chance to represent my year in a variety of sports and I had the privilege of being house captain. I have been a member of the Playball team since July 2013
  Sophie Johnson

Hi all, I grew up in the Clapham area and my passion for coaching began age 16 where I completed my work experience at a tennis club in Wandsworth. This experience aided me during my time at Wimbledon High School, where I worked in the PE department. During my time at school, I was lucky enough to represent and captain many sports teams, and I have been a member of the Playball team since 2015

Hi Everyone, I was born and educated in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. I have always been passionate about sports, earning provincial colours for rugby, cricket, squash and hockey. After completing an Honours degree in Marketing at University, I spent a season playing rugby in the Super League in the United States. I had plenty of experience working with children over there, where we established a mini rugby programme for 7-10 year olds. I have been coaching Playball since 2008 and started our franchise in 2010. Watching the children grow in confidence as they progress through our programme is truly rewarding.
  Sacha Thedvall

Hi, I grew up in an active and sporting family in South Africa. As a child my extracurricular activities included hockey, tennis and swimming. After completing my degree in Primary Education, I worked at an Independent school in London as a KS2 teacher and Head of Girls Games. I believe this programme is essential for all children as it develops sport and life skills.
  Ben Brown

Hi there, my name is Ben and I have been a member of the playball team since 2015. I enjoy all sports and am an avid football fan in particular, still playing and coaching around my full time playball commitments. I look forward to meeting you all out on the court!
