Hi there, my name is Michelle Robertson, and I am a CRB-checked qualified Primary School Teacher and have worked in many schools in and around the Sevenoaks and Tonbridge area. I was lucky enough to introduce Playball to Sevenoaks in January 2011 and having grown up within a sports-orientated family in South Africa, it allowed me to merge my love for teaching kids, with my love for sport. I’m proud to have had over 20 year’s experience working with children in various academic and sporting roles and believe this experience has enabled me to overcome individual challenges and to understand what playing in a team environment is all about. Having fun and being there for each other, understanding individuals' weaknesses and strengths, supporting one another and encouraging fair play, is a philosophy that I fully believe in and practice. I also compete regularly in softball, I player-manage a softball team and have been lucky enough to represent my province at the South African National Championships, and have represented the UK in European Club Championships. I’m really looking forward to helping your child develop a genuine enthusiasm for sport, and would be delighted to answer any questions you may have about the programme, so please feel free to contact me to find out more about Playball.

From a young age I've been involved in a variety of sports and competitions having represented Kent in gymnastics, netball and athletics. I also was part of a Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells league in netball, which I did for around 6 years, so sport has always been very important to me as an individual. I was delighted when I got the opportunity to work with Playball and since joining, have become inspired in how children achieve new skills taught and how they can apply themselves to the best of their ability. This fuels me with enthusiasm to teach children the programme to see them overcome personal physical and mental challenges.

After graduating from the University of Chichester with a BSc (Hons) in Football Coaching and Performance, I wanted to continue my passion for coaching that I’ve had since watching my dad coach me when I was younger. I’ve been lucky enough to play for a variety of football teams at a high standard including Tonbridge Angels, Faversham and Canterbury FC, and have represented my district Maidstone numerous times. Alongside this, I have also coached a number of youth football teams both before and during my time at university, which not only provided me with the opportunity to develop my teamwork and organisational skills, but has also made me into the enthusiastic and confident coach I am today.

Sport is something I’ve been very passionate about from a very young age, and have competed in a variety of sports, including Athletics, Hockey and Horse Riding. I competed for Tonbridge Athletics group for many years, represented Kent at Regional Level as well as Riding at high level across the country. On completion of my A levels, I wish to study Sports and Children’s Psychology at University. Being part of Playball has given me an amazing opportunity to get an insight into my possible career. The relationship that develops with the children and seeing them progress and overcome challenges is something that I personally find very satisfying working at Playball Sevenoaks.

Hi, I’m Josh and I’m a licensed Level 3 LTA coach and have been coaching tennis for the last 14 years. I’ve had the privilege of coaching with the Delgado Brothers and Judy Murray who’ve been inspirational to me throughout my professional career. One of my other moments I reflect on in my career to date, was that in one of my first tennis groups at Park Langley Tennis Club, I coached a young Emma Raducanu. I also played cricket at a high level and when I am not playing or coaching sport, you can often find me at a gig somewhere as I am also a semi-pro singer, having graduated from the Brit School of the Performing Arts. I’m so happy to join the Sevenoaks Playball team as I am passionate about creating a fun and creative learning environment for children and having sports as the means to do that is very motivating for me. I am also lucky enough to be a father of two young children myself so I fully appreciate how important it is for kids to have a club where they can challenge themselves to grow, and I really look forward to this aspect of coaching your kids at Playball.
