My name is Harry Simmonds, and I was born and raised in the local area of Elmbridge. I have had plenty of experience working with children and have been part of the Playball team since 2013.
Whilst at school I represented my year in a variety of sports varying from football and rugby to tennis and cricket. In doing so, I discovered that you don’t always have to be the most skilful person to succeed, but with plenty of effort and enthusiasm you can become successful.
Whilst at Sixth Form I was given the privilege of becoming House Captain. One of the reasons behind this was because of my ability to listen, understand and help those children in the younger years, allowing me to become a well-respected student within the school.
After Sixth Form, I took a Gap Year working in a local Nursery and taking kids birthday parties at the Leisure Centre. Both of which I thoroughly enjoyed before flying off for 3 months to Cape Town, South Africa to do some volunteer work with women and children less fortunate than us in a town called Lavender Hill. This experience was extremely humbling, changing the way I saw and valued everything back in the UK.
I look forward to meeting you all out on the courts!
Hi all, my name is Sophie Johnson. I grew up in Clapham and have spent a lot of time around the Elmbridge area due to family living in and around Walton and Hersham. I attended Burntwood Secondary School in Tooting, followed by Esher College, where I studied for my A Levels. Throughout my time in education I have represented and captained my school and college in a variety of sports including football, tennis, rounders and netball. In addition, I have been able to coach tennis at the club I used to play for in Wandsworth. This gave me my first experience of working with children and I loved it! After college I began working at Wimbledon High School as an Assistant in the PE Department, where I have had the opportunity to teach young children a number of different sports - something I found very rewarding. It was being part of the PE department at Wimbledon High that confirmed to me that coaching was how I wanted to begin my career path. I am hugely looking forward to meeting you all and being a part of your child's development, both on and off the court. Sophie

My name is Gareth Hunter, I was born and educated in Kwa-Zulu Natal,
South Africa where I attended a well known sporting school in Pietermaritzburg.
I have always been passionate about sport and at school, earned
provincial colours for rugby, cricket, squash and hockey.
It was during my time at University (whilst completing an Honours
degree in Marketing) that I began working with children part time,
coaching cricket, rugby and hockey, that my passion for coaching
started to develop. After university I spent a season playing rugby in
the Super League in the United States and again gained plenty of
experience working with children, as we established a mini rugby
program for children from 7-10 years of age in the San Diego area.
I have been coaching Playball in the UK since 2008, and have
seen first hand, what an impact our program has on children-and I
don't mean purely from a sporting perspective. The life skills we teach,
as well as the physical development of the children are crucial to
develop well adjusted and balanced children, on the sports field and
in the classroom. Watching the children grow in confidence, as they
progress through our program is truly rewarding.
Yours in sport,
Hi, my name is Sacha. From a young age, I became a sports enthusiast. I grew up in an active and sporting family, in South Africa. As a child, my extracurricular activities included Hockey, tennis, athletics, netball, squash, swimming, water skiing, gymnastics and dancing. As I grew older my focus became hockey, to which I played at club and provincial levels. While completing my Degree in Primary Education, I gained 4 years of experience coaching hockey at local schools. After graduating, I decided to come to the UK to further my teaching career and experience. I worked at an Independent school in London for 8 years, as a KS2 teacher and Head of girls games. I have gained experience teaching a variety of sporting skills and developing children appreciation for sport. Throughout my career I have attended numerous coaching courses to further develop as a teacher and a coach. I currently hold a coaching certificate for mini hockey, mini netball, mini tennis, level 1 and 2 gymnastics, and rounders. I took a break from teaching when I had my children, but now that they are starting Nursery and Reception, I would like to return to teaching and coaching, which I thoroughly enjoy. I have been a Playball parent for 2 years, where my daughter has thoroughly enjoyed herself. The Playball programme is excellent, I have watched my daughter grow in self-confidence and competence. I believe this programme is essential for all children, as it develops life skills as well as sport skills
Hi there, my name is Ben. I am from the area of Epsom, where I attended Glyn school. During my time at Glyn I was given the privilege of captaining the football team and I also had my first experience as a sports coach to the younger age groups. I really enjoyed this as I loved passing on the knowledge gained from my experiences whilst participating in various team sports . I feel it's important that children learn to be part of a team and to be competitive and motivated, as these are great life skills. I look forward to meeting you all on the courts!
Hi there, my name is Harrison. I am 22 years old from Sutton. I started coaching from the age of 16, teaching football skills to kids aged 2-7. I attended Glyn Technology School where I played competitive sports as well as coaching students in the years below myself. After I left school, I played for Crystal Palace FC where I obtained my FA Level 1 in football coaching. I started working for Playball in August 2017 and have enjoyed every minute. The programme is fantastic and I love watching the kids progress each term. I look forward to meeting you all on the court.

What the parents have said...
" I recently booked a party for my 3 year old son, which I would highly recommend. The children had a brilliant time and were thoroughly engaged and entertained by the coaches throughout. The party worked really well with lots of fun games and activities provided, so all I had to worry about was the food. The children had a treasure hunt, which they adored and I was delighted that they all went home after 2 hours very happy. My son loved his Playball party and has already asked for another one next year, which I will be booking!" -Ethan's mum
"We had a Playball party last Saturday for my daughter's 5th Birthday, and I have to say, it was perfect- the kids had an absolute blast! The parents were amazed at how every single child was totally engaged and delighted. Gareth has a way with kids which is fascinating to watch- they all adore him and there was constant laughter and activity. He kept them entertained for a solid hour and a half and finished with a treasure hunt which the kids are still talking about.I have been told by many that it was the best Birthday party they had ever been to. I thoroughly recommend Gareth and his team to organise the perfect kids party!" -Sophie and Amelie's mum
"My 3 year old had a Playball party this Summer and it was a huge success. The kids were thoroughly entertained (and worn out!) leaving the mums and dads with a rare chance for some proper time off!
